Joy and Celebration…we have formally made our submission to HLF for a major Delivery Stage grant of £540,700.
This submission has consisted of 24 separate documents, all cross-referenced, plus the detailed architect plans and various technical specifications, plus a number of supporting photographs. If we are successful (DV), then we should be able to move ahead with the work in the Church and the Link during 2018.
Getting to this point has been a tremendous achievement, with so many people to thank.
From within the church, particularly to Helen Thurston (one of our Dots mums) who has worked so hard on the collation and editing of the various documents and timelines…. plus especially to our Churchwardens, Treasurer and Office team who have directly engaged in various ways …. plus to the collective PCC in their prayers, critical appraisal, wisdom and encouragement …. plus to so many of our church family who have given time, talents and generosity to enable us to get this far…plus to all those who joined with the consultative process and have offered ideas and suggestions along the way. Already we have seen and experienced much “church development” in a human and spiritual context.
And to these we add our thanks to a genuinely committed and caring team of professionals we have been working with: architects, project managers and quantity surveyors, archaeologist, technical consultants, heritage interpreter, and our own recruited Heritage Manager.
Now, we wait and pray:
…for the HLF consideration, with a decision due next March
…for a period of reflection before we start planning our funding for our Church House and the Organ
Coming into Advent is a period of even greater awaiting, for now we can go forward into that Season confident of God’s amazing blessing on his Church at All Saints.
