Guard your heart

Thursday Morning Prayer

At Morning Prayer today – held in Church House, on our Dots pastel mat, we opened with reading from Mark 7 – with the Pharisees coming to find fault with  Jesus about his disciples ‘defiled hands’  Jesus was stern in His reply because of the leaders over concern with trivial matters (ritual washing/traditions) excluding everyone who didn’t keep the rule and so discourage them from coming to God.  Jesus tell them their hearts are far from God. Lawrence leading us this morning asked us to consider our own hearts – Proverbs 4:23  Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – we chatted through what our hearts mean, and from a square piece of paper we first cut a simple heart, a bit more careful folding and snipping and we had the cross in the middle.  Jesus at the centre of our hearts and lives. Morning Prayer on a Thursday is from 9.00-9.30am in Church House – please join us.
