Jasper Snowdon

Jasper Whitfield Snowdon (1896-1917)

Jasper was the grandson of Reverend John Snowdon, who was Vicar of Ilkley for thirty years during the town’s transition from a rural backwater to a fashionable spa town. Jasper, the youngest of five children and only boy, was born in Heaton and educated at Bradford Boys Grammar School, When war broke out in August 1914, Jasper joined up though not yet eighteen.
