Matugga Lunch

The spring sunshine was just beating the cooler breeze to enable around 60 to enjoy a lunch outside in the garden .

The lunch was about community, here in Ilkley meeting with each other and , community building across the seas in Uganda. It was raising funds for a school and children in Matugga, just north of Kampala in Uganda. The link between Ilkley and Matugga was built by Rev Roger Fry and Pastor  now Bishop Ivan Luguloobi. Roger Fry was able to give the story of the link to the gathered group. Friendship has meant that many people from the Ilkley area have visited Matugga and firm links have been built. Many people contributed to providing the lunch and in a relaxed atmosphere about £1000 was raised to help improve the school and education of the many children there.
