Finding connections with God - Father Son and Holy Spirit

All Saints Ikley’s ‘All comers’ quiz returns!

Yes, that’s right, Quiz Night is back!  Join us on our YouTube channel on Saturday 31st October at 7pm for another great evening!  We will once again be raising money for the Ilkley Foodbank who continue to support many people in our area.  More details about how you can donate will be communicated nearer the time.

All Saints Ilkley reopens for Private Prayer

This Sunday, 12th July, All Saints Ilkley will re-open its doors for private prayer.  The building will be open from 1pm to 3pm every Sunday and anyone is welcome to come to the church for a short time of individual prayer and reflection.  In order to maintain social distancing, we will allow a maximum of six people in the building at any one time.  If you do visit us, and we have reached maximum capacity, we may ask you to wait outside for a short while until a space becomes available.  To find out more about what to expect when you visit the church, please watch the video below:

Interview with Andrew Parker – Mission Aviation Fellowship

The Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is one of our four Mission Partners here at All Saints Ilkley.  Our main connection is through the Parker family and prior to the lockdown we were looking forward to welcoming them to Ilkley to hear more about their mission and ministry in Uganda.  Although they can’t be with us in person, we were really pleased to be able to catch up with Andrew via Zoom last week.  To hear more about the work of MAF, click on the link below.

Christian Aid Week

CA.png

Traditionally, the second week in May has been a week for giving to Christian Aid via the familiar little red envelopes in church or through our street collections.  This year, due to the coronavirus emergency, we’re not able to collect your donations in the usual way, but the need is – if anything – even greater, as some of the world’s poorest countries try to cope with the virus, on top of all the other problems they face such as a lack of clean water, healthcare and education.

Please remember them in your prayers.  And you can still give your financial support!  We’ve set up an e-envelope, which allows you to make an online donation quickly and easily, with the money going directly to Christian Aid.  Please go to All Saints e-envelope.  Alternatively, you can call 0207 523 2269 to make a donation over the phone.

Dots Big Bake!

We know how much our Dots and adults LOVE cake time!  And although we can’t meet in person at the moment, we thought that it would be a good time to share some of our favourite bakes.  This week we have Fork Biscuits!  They are super easy to make and perfect for little ones to have a go too.

Fork Biscuits

Ingredients

100g Softened Butter

50g Caster Sugar

150g Self-Raising Flour

Method:

  1.  Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees.  Lightly grease two baking trays.
  2. Measure the butter into a bowl and beat to soften.  Gradually beat in the sugar and then the flour.  Bring the mixture together with your hands to form a dough.  Form the dough into 16 balls about the size of a walnut and place well apart on the pre-prepared baking trays.  Dip a fork in a little water and use this to flatten the biscuits.
  3. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes until a very pale golden colour.  Lift off the baking tray and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
