Alpha Online – Coming Soon!

Where do people turn to in a time of national and personal crisis?

It seems that people are turning to prayer and to the Bible for answers to their questions.  Bible sales went up 55% in April and 3 million new people say that they have turned to prayer.  Online church attendance has rocketed.

Are you searching for answers?  Why not #tryalpha?

All Saints Ilkley have a new online Alpha course starting on Sunday 31st May at 6.30pm and you are invited to try it out!  This first taster session is an opportunity to find out more about Alpha and to try it out before signing up for the course.  Further information can be found on our Alpha page or you can email the Church Office (office@ilkleyallsaints.org.uk) to be given the Zoom link to join us.

Update from All Saints Ilkley

Hear the latest update from our Vicar, Revd Mike Coe!

Christian Aid Week

CA.png

Traditionally, the second week in May has been a week for giving to Christian Aid via the familiar little red envelopes in church or through our street collections.  This year, due to the coronavirus emergency, we’re not able to collect your donations in the usual way, but the need is – if anything – even greater, as some of the world’s poorest countries try to cope with the virus, on top of all the other problems they face such as a lack of clean water, healthcare and education.

Please remember them in your prayers.  And you can still give your financial support!  We’ve set up an e-envelope, which allows you to make an online donation quickly and easily, with the money going directly to Christian Aid.  Please go to All Saints e-envelope.  Alternatively, you can call 0207 523 2269 to make a donation over the phone.

Dots Big Bake!

We know how much our Dots and adults LOVE cake time!  And although we can’t meet in person at the moment, we thought that it would be a good time to share some of our favourite bakes.  This week we have Fork Biscuits!  They are super easy to make and perfect for little ones to have a go too.

Fork Biscuits

Ingredients

100g Softened Butter

50g Caster Sugar

150g Self-Raising Flour

Method:

  1.  Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees.  Lightly grease two baking trays.
  2. Measure the butter into a bowl and beat to soften.  Gradually beat in the sugar and then the flour.  Bring the mixture together with your hands to form a dough.  Form the dough into 16 balls about the size of a walnut and place well apart on the pre-prepared baking trays.  Dip a fork in a little water and use this to flatten the biscuits.
  3. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes until a very pale golden colour.  Lift off the baking tray and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
