Tuesday 19th January
Gathered in a secret location to stand with the millions of Christians around the world who have to meet in secret because they are persecuted for their faith. As part of the week of prayer for Christian unity this event was led by young people from both All Saints and Christchurch who shared Bible readings and reflections. Collectively we prayed for the top 5 countries where to share the love of Jesus can lead to violence, imprisonment and even death. The event was kept secret by a password on entry and we kept silent during the police raid, lighting candles for unity and peace in the world. We ended with sung worship and a challenge to pray for a persecuted country throughout this month. A very powerful and inspiring night, thanks to everyone who came.
